Poor service at RHB Bank Bukit Mertajam Branch.

May 25, 2010 Author: Jess | Filed under: Quotidien!

This morning, I went to the bank to do some withdrawals, and i got scolded from a bitch! Being unable to complaint there and then, i decided to write a letter to the customer service department. Eh ben voila!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this email to you as an acknowledgement of a poor service that I felt I should bring to your attention. Today, as of Tuesday May 25th 2010, I went to the RHB Bank (Bukit Mertajam Branch) to withdraw money on the ATM machine with my debit card issued from France (BNP Paribas), and I had trouble doing so. Therefore, I approached the personal banker (let’s say Personal Banker A) to ask for help : to enquire if withdrawals are possible with my debit card. As far as he is concerned, he went into the office counter to check and find out the answer for me. I was then called to enter the office to key-in my pass-code on a debit card machine in order to withdraw money manually. However, the transaction was not successful.
For your information Sir/Madam, when I was called into the office counter, a few of the bankers sounded me and Personal Banker A. I was dumbfounded as I didn’t know how to re-act, there were other customers in the bank, both my father and my mother were watching the situation and yet, the bankers kept on scolding. According to them, customers are not allowed to enter the office counter as it is written on the door : “AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY”.
Firstly, I am not a blind sighted person, I would not have entered the office without authorization. As I walked into the office, bizarre eyes were pointed straight at me, and scoldings were threw towards Personal Banker A in front of me, in front of all the customers. Are there no respect for their colleague? Is that what they call customer service? Don’t they know how unprofessional that is?
Secondly, a woman banker stared at me, she kept saying : “Mana boleh bawa customer masuk, for security reason, kenapa u bawa customer masuk?” And Personal Banker A explained that he needed me to key-in my pass-code on the debit card machine. But the woman banker repeated the same phrase again. I understand that it might be dangerous to allow a stranger to enter the office counter, but the fact that the woman banker kept repeating the same phrase again and again really shows how nonethical she is. I believe that there are a lot more appropriate ways to address to Personal Banker A and weird stares are rude especially when you are dealing with customers. Imagine the awkward moment between Personal Banker A and me in the office counter, imagine all the eyes watching the situation in the bank! If it is impossible for me to enter the office counter, how would I be able to key-in my pass-code?
Thirdly, concerning the “security” reason, I apprehend that the bankers acted that way as a precaution. But how dangerous can a 21 years old girl be? And what is the use to have a 3 or more guards in the bank? What is the use to have an alarm system in the bank? What an attitude?
I am extremely disappointed. It was a public humiliation to me and to Personal Banker A, and I felt like I was a danger. My mother have been a pleased customer of RHB Bank since a very long time, but this situation is just like a stab in the heart. We will not hesitate to switch to another banking institution.
I am conscious that this case will not entirely attract your attention, but just so you know, Sir/Madam, this situation happened to me, and it might happen or has happened to another person. However, I look forward to hearing from you, and a resolution to this problem.
I thank you for your attention.
Regards,
May Ching Ang.

Question 21.

May 11, 2010 Author: Jess | Filed under: Quotidien!

Do you guys remember this question 21 we did in primary schools? Ingat tak? It’s some sort of information transfer exercise, and there were tables of which we have to choose, and then rewrite them like some kind of short essay. For example, there are 3 types of pens given : the first one is a ball pen and it cost RM2, if you buy that pen you will get one free ruler; the second one is a ball pen too, and it cost RM1.70 without free ruler; the third one is a ball pen too and it cost RM3 if you buy two. (And then there are lots more other specifications/characteristics) So here we have to choose which one suits us the best or which one is the most reasonable one. Stuffs like that.. Do you guys remember???

Errr, yea, why would i wanna talk about this Question 21?

The reason is apparently, i am in the midst of pragmatically answering this question. And the subjects which i need to choose are apartments. I know, fickle minded, i know. It’s my fault for so wanting that apartment i talked about before this, when i only went and have a look like once. =.=” I know, i’m crazy! Gaah!

Ok, the thing is, both of them are cool, well, except for the one i mentioned on my previous post is smaller than the new one. And price difference, around 100 euro. But this new place is really spacious, big, and fully furnished. My friend’s actually renting this place apparently but he’s leaving soon, so i thought of taking his place, as i spent most of my time there. It’s like my 2nd house here. And i feel this chemistry with it, everything is so perfect here, ( i know, i dah pernah cakap this ayat in my previous post. ;p ) Mais oui. I love it here.

Can please help me decide? I will have to give an answer tomorrow. And then settle all stuffs!
